Phased results are a bit off - dunno if you could really use them for vahaduo calcs / estimate mixes

example, my mom, just tested her, see her Eurogenes K13 results:


1) "real" one (with her actual tested kit):

GEDmatch parental phasing seems to work well when phasing against two parents. If you are only phasing against one parent, one of the resulting kits will typically be very noisy.

If you phase your kit against both of your parent's kits, 2 new kits should result:

1) One kit that represents the admix that you inherited from your father
2) A second kit that represents the admix that you inherited from your mother

Give that a shot, it should work okay. Remember, the resulting kits are based on 50% of your parent's DNA - so the phased kit may vary a little from the actual test kit.

Also, GEDmatch ain't perfect ;)

thanks. no problem, I love GEDmatch, it has plenty of cool tools. but I just wanted to point to others, who didn't test both parents, not to take phasing the other parent from your own DNA result as a 1 to 1 accurate actual result of their parent

Got it, that is an excellent point.

And probably most people only have one parent tested, and that's if they're lucky.
