I agree, if more data is being collected for a later addition, I see no problem in posting reference samples, but I don't think this has to be rushed right at this moment and add something like Romanian_SouthCentralMoldova, or something like that. What does this even suppose to mean, and is it really that different from the rest of Western Moldavia? Genetics should seek to be as scientifically accurate as possible, and even if such calculators cannot pretend to be exact science, but academic sources should always have priority, or many individual sources, so a more reasonable average aggregate can be created. Ideally minimum 10 people with 8/8 grandparents originating from the same region and ethnicity should be the threshold to introduce of new populace to the calculator, even somewhat less would not be a problem if they fit this requirement, but 1 or 2 individuals should not be enough to add a region or country to the calculator. This would only create misleading results.

It's fits me better despite that the new average has a bit higher 'northern' score. That is because the North Atlantic is now lower than what the original calculator deemed as average. It was 27%, which is certainly more than what most Serbs get.

I think regional differences aren't totally important/legitimate either. Whether a certain region has minor migration from who-knows-where in comparison to another region of the country, doesn't make one any more or less that ethnicity. So it's kind of irrelevant, except to those who are perfectionists maybe.

I think for hobbyists it would be fun to see ethnic averages overall in an oracle. That way it'll give you a more general idea of which way your genetics kind of sway toward.

Unfortunately it seems that the samples gathered on this forum are not worse than the academic ones. Let us remember that out of the 9 or so Moldova samples, 2 were straight Belorussian/W Russian and one was a Gypsy-Russian mix.

At the same time, the G25 Moldova samples are too southern, even more southern than Romania, which, I say, is plainly impossible.

So I am Slovenian and my father is Bosnian Serb? Sounds legit ahaha. Especially considering my mother is very similar to him.

BTW I didn't add MDLP K16 because on Gedmatch it lacks regional designations for references (in spreadsheet only, in oracle there are). For example Polish is two times and so on. Someone has it?

those samples are blocked now after this last gedmatch fuckup. someone should reupload them.

For example even if Hungarians are spread out today in many countries and live separately for over 100 years, with the exception of Székelys and Csángós, in case they have purely Hungarian grandparents, who were born before the dismantle of Historic Hungary, they tend to have similar averages. I honestly wouldn't see the scientific legitimacy of creating various Hungarian sub-groups, as one Hungarian coordinate, based on an aggregate of dozens of unmixed, 3rd generation Hungarians should be plenty enough. I just barely miss this threshold as I'm only 7/8th Hungarian.

For me is bad. Previously I got Serbian as closest distance as I always get on all other calculators. My result shouldn't be out of average.

This calculator should be started from scratch then will be excellent calc

Debate the samples, pick the right one, remove the unnecessary, use averages or representative individuals, but too much ego for that I think still
