That's possible, especially the 3 southern counties bordering Romania.

Also I noticed extreme west (Croatia) and extreme east (Moldova) of ''Slavo-Vlach facade'' cluster very similary in terms of north/south ancestry, but pre-Slavic populations are big difference.
Btw, under Croatia I mean southern Croats only, as north Croats aren't part of this continuum.

His fit is poor though. But my point is how we have almost identical percentage of NE Slavic input (and from same population), but our ''Vlach'' part is very different.
Mine is North Italian (Illyrian like), his is Greek (Thracian like). As you can see few pages back, my father scores almost exactly like me (Belgorod + N.Italy)

For me they are strange not because of being southern (because my guess is they are southern Moldovans from Romania), but because of being western. They are close to Macedonian Slavs.
It doesn't make much sense to me. Seya is southern Moldovan and she is southern and also eastern shifted, and that makes sense considering history of the region.

Or maybe those sampled Moldovans were actually Gagauz, who are less eastern shifted than eastern Romanians, some can be pretty close to northern Ghegs for example.

I noticed this. More Baltic shifted people are probably closer to original Slavic/Croatian population of Dalmatia, and those less are Morlaks in origins or have some extra Roman input from coast.
Morlaks were actually legit Vlachs before slavicisation (they were probably not very numerous) and later they were expanded to include South Slavic shaperds mostly.

I was going to make a thread about this earlier. On MyTrueAncestry Croats and Moldovans match each other, could just be shared north-south ratio %.

The guy says he thinks he is 1/8 Russian by the way. It sounds like a family story that may not be true though. He didn't get any Russian regions (or regions from other Slavic countries) on 23andMe and all his relatives are only Romanian-speaking.

Dalmatian Croatians are mix of Bunjevci, Chakavians and assimilatted coastal Romance speakers.
Almost all Croatians from hinterland are Bunjevci.

Not true. Štokavian =/= Bunjevac
Bunjevac identity never existed in Dalmatia, it's pretty irrelevant there. Bunjevci live in Bačka, Hungary and smaller part is in North Adriatic region in hinterland of town Novi Vinodolski.
Some are in Lika and Gorski kotar too, and they have specific surnames which Štokavian Croats from Dalmatia rarely have.

And these two clusters we are speaking about exist among both Čakavian and Štokavian Dalmatians.
