^^It's pretty much a similar situation on almost every calculator.......:....
^ probably noise I would say then based on this.
I got 2.6 south asian as well which is pretty weird, but it might have something to do with my central asian ancestry.

I'm tired of explaining that South Asian like ancestry of West and North Eurasians is ANI, not ASI but hey i'll quote Davidski..
Quote:
ASI ancestry among the Indian samples in this study is represented by the South Asian, Oceanian and East Asian components. But these three components make up 90-100% of the genetic structure of the Indians. This leaves almost no room for ANI, unless a large part of the South Asian component shared by the Indian samples is in fact ANI.
What this suggests is that the Mal'ta South Asian component is 100% ANI, of the same type that is seen in West Asia and Europe today. This makes sense considering that archeologically the Mal'ta site shows links to European sites where ASI was unlikely to have been present before the Ice Age, and where it's not present today.
The Mal'ta population had archeological and genetic ties with people who were the ancestors of present day Europeans and West Asians, and they passed on their South Asian-like and Oceanian-like admixture to them. So if this is ASI, it's not the same ASI as in South Asia today.
South Asians are more drifted than West Asians and Europeans, so some of the ancestry they share with these groups gets lumped into a South Asian-specific cluster which has nothing to do with the component we know as Ancestral South Asian (ASI).
Sure but this goes for all components.
But ANI, as its close cousin "West Asian", isn't purely West Eurasian though:
Quote:
Do you think then that the West_Med, East_Med and West_Asian components are composed of majority Neolithic alleles?
Quote:
West Med and East Med should be purely Neolithic, but West Asian is heavily mixed, and probably has a lot of that Eurasian mammoth-steppe influence that came out South Asian in the study of the Mal'ta genome.
''South Asia'' label here is South Asia according to todays admixures, not same as the Mal'ta boy's era. Mal'ta boy's ''South Asia'' mixed with ASI people at neolithic, which wasn't South Asia before that time, it is some sort of Central Asian. And we know that Central Asia was part of West Eurasian continuum until Bronze age.
Jackson here's the dendogram at macro settings.. I don't think it is solid for everyone, some may fall into a sister micro clade..

I've posted mine too. I'm part Thessalian by the way.
I am not sure, you are probably one of those who thrown away to sister branch Albanian, because of Bulgarian is further away and you are still a bit Northern compared to Greek sample.. If there would be a Makedonian sample maybe you would have been in that clade.. What i see on the MDS plot you are drifted to Balkan with slight pull to Anatolia..

Can you tell that I let them pick their own nicknames...? LOL!
Anyway, here is their known ancestry:
Bubbles - Overwhelmingly German with a large portion coming from former Prussia and some from Austria/Bohemia. Pretty much always has German as a first match, but shows a bit of a pull east of Germany
Gorilla - Known ancestry is English, Irish, German and French. Some possible unkown ancestry provides a pull towards the Caucasus
Blondie - Known ancestry is English, Irish, and German. Not much is known regarding ancestral origins
Sea Warrior's Grandmother - Mostly of English ancestry with some Scottish. Possibly a small amount of Continental European ancestry.
Sea Warrior's Mother - Mostly West German and Austrian with some Swedish and French ancestry.
Hope this helps.

Could the Serbian, Bulgarian, Greek, Italian thing be the reason why I got haplogroup J2b2?
Any scandinavians here with similar results?
Cool, another J2b2 carrier. You are the first one I met here and the second one I met in total. We are a rare bunch. Wouldn't have expected somebody from Scandinavia, though.
It is the other way around, your paternal line, J2b2, would be the reason for your elevated East_Med and Red_Sea admixture. Either it's quite recent (one paternal ancestor a couple of generations ago). Or it's old and the region your paternal line comes from must have been settled by people from somewhere much more south-eastern originally, resulting in elevated amounts of East_Med and Red_Sea admixture in the region.Quote:

Very nice results......your results showcase, quite nicely, why South Italians plot where they do.
Your phenotype compliments your results nicely as well.

^oracle doesn't tell you what your ethnicity is, all it does is give you the best possibilities based on your results.
Still, the "best possibilities" in this case don't seem very likely.
The best Oracle I've seen is EUTest V2, and even it did something like 99% English.
I'm not quite sure how Oracle works, but to me, it seems like a useful feature would be if you could manually set which groups are used in the calculations, so that it gives more reasonable results, instead of trying to fit someone who is pred. NW Euro with Bulgarians and Serbians.
Btw the Spanish results aren't silly, because your results have the same components as the Iberian results. It's just that the numbers vary abit percentage wise on each component.
Mine for example:
