I blame great gramammy. Even though my lineage is from Yorkshire we are heavily mixed with peoples from Hampshire and Suffolk, my great grandmother's family are half from Hampshire (Andover) the other half from Suffolk (Walsham le Willows) that added to the other non-Northern English families that got married in undoubtedly had some weight in the result.
