Today Finnish linguists say that the Finns came from Urals, not only Finnic languages. The problem is that Germanic loan words in Baltic Finnic languages are too old to serve these peculiar ideas. So, if you want to be a reputable researcher in Finland you have to deny many things, including archaeological evidences, be quietly or fabricate stories, for instance how Germans hail from Volga and were pushed to Scandinavia and Germany by Finnic warriors. This is something that can work in a small linguistic area, because these clowns hold two realities, one in home land and another abroad. Bad thing is that Finnish geneticists have to follow if they want to be reputable researchers in Finland, because our universities are small and you have to ensure your career.
