Some of the North Sea component you have has eaten by Atlantic hence elevated Atlantic results.. You also score 0 North Sea but 8% Atlantic.. I believe some components shouldn't be taken separately but as a whole (at least for non-Europeans).. North Sea+Atlantic and Baltic+East European e.g.

It's likely that all of the "european" components should be taken as a whole for non-europeans. The Fst distances in this test suggest that East European and Baltic are both a little bit closer to Atlantic and North Sea than to each other.

That is an interesting thing for those populations that are high in both Baltic and East Euro..

Eastern Euro, Baltic, North Sea, Atlantic are actually same components from the beginning but different % of Neolithic influences.. While West Med is ended up clustering with West Asia..

I would not worry about this very much to be honest. Sure in some cases it may happen a little bit but overall I don't think it is much of a problem. I actually asked Polako about this yesterday. Here is his reply to me below.

''No, the Atlantic won't be lumped into North Sea here, because it's a different methodology.''

Well, that's interesting, because I also speculated that North_Sea is lumped into Atlantic in my case. I always score 0% North_Sea which is strange.

That probably means we are enemies now, North Sea barbarian! :mad: Our Pontic Facade highlands constitue a invulnerable stronghold against raiding invaders from the north! :cool:

It probably varies among individual non-Europeans. There are probably a number of reasons why you could score more Atlantic than North Sea. Nothing to worry about really though I don't think.
