This is what my Asia map looks like now. Southeast Asia. I get results from there in almost any calculator. Even G25 assigns some Indonesian and Indochinese to me. Also to my father (and he gets Thai and Cambodian for example in many calculators).
But how is this possible? Did some of the Turkic tribes who settled in East Europe in the past, actually have some Southeast Asian-like ancestry? What about Turkish people? Are there other Hungarians who get Southeast Asian on Vahaduo, GEDmatch or in any other commercial DNA test report?
FTDNA did say I have some Southeast Asian ancestry, although that is a conservative estimate. I also match a sample found in the Philippines but Dr. Maul said that's an ancient Mongolic sample.
Any thoughts on this?
