Still find it a bit curious that the Lombards were so Northwestern shifted, like they came from Britain rather than Northern Germany. I guess it points to Bronze Age Insular Celtic-like ancestry being more prominent in Early Medieval Germany than now.

Some early medieval Saxon samples from NW Germany seem to have insular Celtic admixture. That I noticed when analyzing them.

It makes me wonder if Early Medieval England was even more continental-descended than previously thought, the 'WBI' ancestry associated with Celtic Britons may have been partly from Anglo-Saxon invaders.
