That was two years ago there might be more now. But on the cenus they count them as white. So i am always surprised by what a high percentage of white people there are compared to what i have seen my whole live. I have had many muslim neighbors mainly from Pakistan my whole life. I have seen other mid eastern people and i can tell if someone is from Afghanistan or west of Afghanistan because their skin is much lighter. Not a surprise in globe13 test they have very little south asian while Pakistani have around 25-35% which easily can explain their dark skin because people over 60% south Asian the Dravidens are almost black skinned.
There are also Christian Assyrians some who have been here for a few generations and they totally adopt American culture. It is hard alot of times when i thought someone was a white american who maybe was a little tan they are Assyrians. Some Assyrians can be white skinned there was one in my school who was made fun of by Mexican kids they used to call him snow man because he was so white. I have seen some Kurds and some do have blue eyes and very pale skin definetly though because the
proto Indo Iranian speakers were mainly light eyed . On average even mid easterns from west of Pakistan are brown skinned but it is still common for them to be lightish brown skinned but basically they are dark skinned and white skin will pop up sometimes. If they act completely american they can defintley pass as white Americans unless they are in a group then u can tell difference because there are tannish. A Iraqi family i know said some of their relatives in Iraq have blonde hair they showed me the pictures it is true they said they have no knowledge of any European inter marriage. A Kurd from Iraq told me the same thing that blonde hair does exist but in iraq.
