Reuploaded my and my parents' raw data yesterday. The Nigerian noise is gone. Here are the results:

The Eastern European breakdown doesn't make any sense. My mom is 20% Balkan? My mom and dad are almost half Baltic, but why am I only 11.8%? :confused: The major regions seem okay, though.

MyHeritage suck in general as fu. I think Dna.land is incredibly accurrate.

Albanians are not Greek, Greek means Greek.

Italian probably means Southern Italian and they are quite similar to Central and Southern Greeks.

Really? It gave me 13% Med Islander which is ridiculous. My dad gets 98% North Slavic and my mom is Northern Russian.

Well then i guess every website has it pros and cons somewhere. I am getting eastern europe everywhere but the % of UK is always changing.

Yeah as did mine. The second time comes more accurate I'd say because in my case it removed the Nigerian, but it could be completely random.

Oh I think I misunderstood you. I uploaded my already existing raw data, I didn't purchase their kit. I got tested with FTDNA, I don't remember exactly but I think the whole process from the day I put the order until the day I got my results took around 2 months.

Except ex Yugos people (Serbs, Bosniaks, Croats) I have most of offered matches from Ukraine, Russia, Polska, Central Europe, with Slavic surnames, usually over "Balkan" component or sometimes over "Baltic" component.
I don't have any or very little matches from southern regions like Greece, Italy, Spain.

Obviously Balkan component on MyHeritage includes South Slavs with old Balkan heritage mix.

My Irish component is interesting. Maybe Celtic heritage?

Would like to see Gedmatch results :)

People are of firm belief that we populated Balkans in 7th century and that we came from "somewhere".

I tend to disagree with that belief.

Your Irish influence is probably related to Celtic influence, but bear in mind Britain and Western Europe had entire population replaced duo 5th century Barbarian Invasions.

Our ancestry is yet to be uncovered one day (our ancestry is under serious manipulation by those in power) there is something about our ancestry that doesn't suits the interests of many.

Jovan Deretić might be an old man, but he isn't insane. A lot of Truth there is about Western Balkan people.

Your Gedmatch results might reveal: How close you are to Greeks and Albanians, Bosnians and Croatians... that would be interesting to see.

But don't bother yourself about ancient ancestry... you will only find lies.

It has got some east Euro input but it isn't really Slavic, I have seen South Slavs get no Balkan so it's confusing. It's a bad cluster imo as most of the reference population don't seem to be Balkan as even Polish people can get over 40%
