Personally I think they're redundant since there's no need to split and already split subregion like Emilia for instance into east and west; also Lucania (old name for Basilicata) is virtually identical to the Basilicata average already in there. Later I might combine those averages and see how that works just to make things a little more straight-forward. Interesting nevertheless.

Why not simply have 6 regions for all of Italy (Alps, North, Centre, South, Sicily and Sardinia)?

In my opinion it wouldn't capture all diversity in Italy. For example Veneto is pretty different from Liguria as far as I know (both are northern).

@Lucas, you wrongly deleted the Cypriot when you added the new Greek update submitted by Kaspias (which is great by the way). Cyprus is a different country, not part of Greece.
