They don't since Croatia is more popular with tourists than Hungary is. And I doubt you are Hungarian.
You are eastern Europeans in eyes of many Croats and that is how my parents saw my Hungarian man
Btw, he would not accept you as Hungarian with 1/4 Romanian ancestry.
It's not about money. It's too large, too crowded, too full with low class tourists and too culturally decadent. It's nice for young students, not for family especially if you are right wing and like the simple life.
Budapest is like more beautiful and poorer Berlin.
Large cities are ratholes and to be avoided, especially in the future.
Every single metropolis is too large and too crowded. Its pretty normal if we are talking about megacities. You as rural girl does not really like it, i can understand that.
Budapest has varied geography, like hills, valleys, a huge river, islands, flat ground and Europe's second large underground system under the city + Budapest is dirty in every way, so not a boring place.
I dont like simple life either, im 100% native urban person.
Level of filth, urban povetry and homelesness is not normal for east-central Euro standards. We are traveling to Prague after EuroCup in the summer and I am pretty sure I won't see so so many mentally ill hobos roaming around there. Such sight alone is enough to ruin your day.
Unfortunately I'm a urbanite.Quote:

Budapest is extremely interesting place, but it wears one out. And I dislike large city people and their rootless and decadent lifestyle, not to mention flood of foreigners of every kind.Quote:
