I got Irish, Scottish and Danish again. It might change in the future if they create a Midlands or Northern English category. At the moment it seems to be picking up my Irish ancestry which isn't higher than 25% as far as I know, but I haven't traced my paternal side fully yet so it might be an underestimate. Alternatively, 'Danish' could be representative of rural midlands English if they're more Germanic than average.

South Asian in most of Europe is probably Romani, although some of it in the UK could be from the British East India Company. In the early days of the colonization of India, taking Indian wives was encouraged before the Suez Canal opened because it wasn't thought that British women would survive the trip (death rates on ships were high at this time).
When Suez opened and India was taken over by the government, British women were brought over and the Anglo-Indian offspring became a secondary layer in the society between British rulers and Indian subjects. Look up Anglo-Indians.
Some family great grandparents on my mother's side served in India, this was after 1900 though.

I think that would be a good idea to create a northern (and also eastern) English category if the data becomes available - A bit like what Spain have, i think 5 or 6 regions represented? I assume Kent is used for south-east English, i think an eastern English category would also be useful because i think my family (apart from my Grandmother) might fit better in that, and instead end up on the continent. It would be interesting to know if the percentages for that big red cluster in POBI are an average or are like that in every area, because there seems to be a fair bit of variation between families even now.

Too be honest I never get as high 'South Asian' in other runs. I suspect my South Asian score is inflated at the expense of another component. Perhaps you shouldn't take it too literally.

I'd be interested to see how high it is in other Euros before jumping to conclusions though. I don't doubt that a few Anglo-Indians probably mixed in to the general population, that a few Romani mixed in the centuries they've been here or even that the 50+ year old Indian community may have had a small genetic impact.

Jackson knows genetics better than me though, I'm not sure if 'South Asian' is synonymous with 'Gedrosian' or not (Gedrosian peaks in Europe in the British Isles and Scandinavia. Outside of Europe it peaks in Anatolia, Iran and NW India.
