They seem to have updated this somewhat. I used to get a Germanic tribe as third closest after Gauls and Romans but now it changed. It went full 180, from Thuringii to Greco-Bactrians. It's probably better though considering my Central Asian admixture.

The vast majority of my deepdives are taken up with the Icelandic samples both the Gaelic and Norse samples and then the Sigtuna samples. The best thing about this site is that they constantly update their samples. Looking forward to when they get more ancient genomes from Ireland.

This Greco Bactrian is a recently added new population as I know.
I am noticing a lot of South Slavs are getting a mix of Greco-Bactrian, Scythian, and or Gaul. I wonder what that sample is as well and why it finds that a better proxy for some than the local Balkan Roman samples.

It was one of the Roopkund outliers. 14 of them were eastern Mediterranean like possibly ancient Macedonian. What were they doing at the bottom of a lake is a good question. Maybe they were curious about the mystic nature of the Himalayas. The lake is supposed to be sacred and also possible they committed suicide or were sacrificed.Quote:

Was Greco-Bactrian Slavic admixed? I find it interesting how alot of Southern Slavs are getting it. You seem to be at a distance of 8 to the sample, which while still distant is far closer than some Balkan neighbors get with each other on moderns.Quote:

My 3 ancient populations are now Celt,Saxon and Vandal . Although I only get 1 vandal at 88 with FTDNA , and 1 at 90 with Ancestry with ancient samples.
