It's a rather sill small but influental group of people with close ties to the Turkish state most of them not even Zaza to begin with or with any connection to it. I remember a meeting of a linguist called Ludwig Paul in which he was asked about his thoughts of "Zazaki as Kurdish" in which he answered in Turkish that he has no opinion about this. And which in turn was translated from into Turkish as "Zaza are no Kurds" by the translator.


Ironically the term Zaza is not even used by the majority of the people to begin with as this is a catch up phrase used in Turkish, while most of the speakers call themselfs Kird, Kirmanj or Dimli. Allot of Politics going on there.

Zazaki.net is founded by Vate group, this is the biggest Zaza organisation. Almost every book written in this tongue is written by them since the 80s and early 90s.

Best solution is to stand away from this troublesome topic imo.

Excluding the word Kurd altogether sounds bad too if it's the actual name of the people.

I know but excluding it from one while adding it to another Kurdish group because of some individuals with weird political views is also not a good way.
As it would be a slap into the face of those who do not follow this political ideology.

I can totally understand why Lucas completely removed it.

To prove my point you could add two identical datasets call one just Zaza and the other Zaza_Kurd. And see how this group of people will still complain as it isn't really that they care about this identity and them being "represented" properly. They will complain why there is a Kurd_Zaza dataset too because their goal is solely a political agenda driven by state funds. Ironically they have no issue in being called Turks at all. Ask them what they would think about calling the dataset Zaza_Turkish and they wouldn't be half as upset.

Or call it Zaza_Turkish/Turkey and look if they will show the same energy. ;)

Serbs don't need more than let's say four averages. We aren't very numerous or particularly diverse as an ethnicity.

That makes sense, the current splitting up of Croatia North vs South into different regions for example doesn't really make much sense to me..I think these regions should be made and put on the Serb dna thread for Serb users to use independently whether they're put officially on Vahaduo doesn't matter much probably don't want to overload the official page too much.

It's too little.

Croatians are less numerous than Serbs and they live on smaller territory and have 4 regional averages.
Serbs for centuries live from Kumanovo to Gorski Kotar, and from Banat to Dalmatia. That is most of former Yugoslavia.

Most of us originated from the same place - the eastern areas of the Dinaric mountain range. Even southern Serbs aren't really different from the rest. We don't need a whole bunch of averages, although I agree the grouping should be done based on dialect rather than geography.

Herzegovina today have quite less Serbs than for example city of Banja Luka, let alone whole Bosnia. But Herzegovina is very important region for the reconstruction of Serbian migrations in the past, and I thing Serb_Herzegovina should be separate cluster. On Serbian dna project is recognized importance of Herzegovina for the reconstruction of Serbian migrations and they tested 500-600 Herzegovinian Serbs on y dna for free. Only Kosovo and Herzegovinian Serbs are have been mass tested on y dna for free.
