Yes in the 90's/beginning 2000's she was popular thanks to that song and the song she did with Renaud "Manhattan Kaboul". Now she completely disappeared.

Yes she had her time, became popular as fast as she vanished. Contrary to Jacques Brel who is a real legend and did ones of the most beautiful songs in French language. I am big fan of him.

A good artist Brel and a bit of a troll avant-le-lettre as a person. Coming from a rich West Flemish bourgeois family that raised their kids in French only, he often claimed to be a Fleming himself not without being a douche-bag toward Dutch-speakers. Often he wasn't even joking. He's a product of a different time though, so when he called Flanders (I prefer 'Flemish Region', but that didn't exist back then) a backward region held back by the Catholic Church, he was telling the truth I guess (not true for Antwerp though, but I guess it is for West Flanders). :p
I think it's the Belgian disease, failure to communicate out of sheer stubbornness and resulting in a pissing contest. He wasn't a bad person regardless and indeed a great artist. He's honoured as such also here in the Dutch-speaking North. I have heard him a bit too often to be a fan of his nowadays, but I have albums of his nonetheless.
