I'm 50% Mountain Jewish, 25% Yemenite Jewish and 25% Libyan Jewish. And yeah I would agree, for me when I think of the standard typical Israeli a North African Jew pops to mind.

I thought North African Jews were culturally Sephardic.
Yes I think nationally speaking a bit less than 35-40% of people from my generation are mix of Ashkenazi/Mizrai/Sephardi.
Where I live probably more.
Still very common to find pure Ashkenazim and pure Moroccan Jews.
Not common to find pure Iraqi Jews or other pure North African Jews.
The Mizrahi category is broader and would include anyone from Moroccan Jews to Turkish Jews to Bukharan Jews and anything in between. It's more common to refer to someone as Mizrahi rather than Sephardi (even if it's a proper Sephardi we're talking about), although it's quite interchangeable.
It is noticeable, Israelis tend to looks darker and more Near Eastern than Jews in the US, Russia or Europe. This politician is a typical Israeli, I guess (half Iraqi half Ashkenazi from Russia and Romania)

She is pretty typical European looking Jewish.
There are much darker than her, and few that are much lighter.
When I hangout with my close friends sometimes I’m the only one with dark hair in the room, but that’s what happens when your friends are mostly Russian lol.
