Seems to be a relevant diversity among Cretans, kinda runs with forensic anthropology. Do you know if it is a West Crete-East Crete cline?
There also seems to be a cline from Dodecanese to Samos/Chios with Ikaria in-between, still Ikariots seem to cluster notably more Western than Cretans. Lavrentis should have seen this as he called these areas Turkoid.
Interesting to have something on Romaniotes.
I'm not 100% sure. However, It's important to note this is an extremely small sample size, so it shouldn't be taken as gospel or anything. I know for a fact the Ikaria samples are based on 2 or 3 samples that have ever been found total. Without any proof of confirmed Ikarian ancestry from all 4 grandparents. I have seen a lot of diversity between all Greek islands on this plot, but of course Sikeliot cherry picked what he wanted to. In my opinion, the majority of islands cluster together in a broad area, and the differences are more from an individual basis, rather than and island basis. However, it's important to know also that the "Central Greek" PCA plot is almost always clustered with Greek islanders, and sometimes the most southern-shifting Maniots, rather than anything near Central Greece on the mainland. From what I understand, most Peleponnesians plot in between Abruzzo and Thessaly, and anything north of there plots Thessaly and above. So they should really change the naming of that. However, we're talking really small differences here.
