Not true. Germans were forcing their ethnicity on others, applying forcible Germanisation policies. Learn to read. German nationalism, like eastern European nationalism (excluding Hungary) was based on concept of ethnicity (people connected by blood) , not nation (like in France).
Nazism wouldn't be possible if Germans were civic nationalists.

No. By the time ethno-nationalism spread, these people were already considered Germans and couldn't be distinguished from others. They didn't have DNA tests back than. And if they had, they'd surely use them.

Don't know about your town but assimilation has been a real thing throughout history, on all continents. I'm sure even Africans and Native Americans assimilated other Africans and NAs linguistically and culturally, we just don't know or don't care about that. Bigger and more useful languages replace smaller and less useful ones. Especially in the past 100-200 years with the rise of urbanization, mass education, print media, radio, TV and the Internet these processes have been accelerating. I'm not advocating for or decrying anything right here, just stating a fact.

Hitler criticized Bismarck for his civic nationalism. German nationalism in period 1871-1914 was very similar to French.

Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf: "people cannot be Germanized, only land" - but that was the opposite of pre-1914 policies.

French always behaved differently than Germanics, in colonies they race mixed freely unlike English and Germans. They are not comparable.
German (or Slavic) concept of ethnicity was not like French or Hungarian.

Actually French Canadians have only 2% Native American admixture on average:

The French had different policies towards Native Americans, because they had to rely on Native allies.

French colonies always had much fewer white settlers than English colonies.

For example in 1655 French colonies had only around 6,000 whites and English colonies 52,000 whites.

In 1702 when Queen Anne's War started the English still had nearly 8 white settlers for every 1 French.

Is this a GEDmatch kit? You can just ask the person to send you raw data if so, and ask for consent to upload on MyHeritage. Then split the 20 Euro costs among those interested and see whom she matches at closest distances. Or was it free for matches and paid for ethnicity estimate? In any case, with raw data it should be easy to figure out through matches if results are the product of proxy effect or real admixture.
