Does anyone know about the ydna haplogroup I1 in Spain?

More than half of my ancestry comes from Spanish immigrants post 1850, so I know what regions they came from (principally Baleares, Asturias, and Galicia).

I'm less clear on where my paternal lineage comes from and would like to find out. I assumed it was likely Canarian or Andalusian, because of the surnames and the demographics of Spanish settlement in Puerto Rico.

But I was surprised to discover my ydna haplogroup was I1, specifically I-L1237 according to FTDNA. Does this point to any specific region of Spain? Or the visigothic invasion? Or Dutch settlement in Canarias?

From my (limited) research it looks like I1 is fairly uncommon in Spain. It seems to be more common on Puerto Rico (around 5% according to the study I saw), so maybe there was some sort of founder effect?
