Bunjevci are croatized in second half 19th and first half of 20th century. When they together with Orthodox Serbs settled in Krajina and Dalmatia they were not Croatians.

Some Serbian Orthodox families carry clade of I2-PH908 which is marked as "Bunjevac" cluster, such as Došen from Lika, Polić from Bosanska Krajina, Ivančević from Kordun, Odobašić from Slavonski Brod etc. Their lines originated from western Herzegovina, once western Herzegovina was Serbian land.

As you can see southern Čakavians seem to lack western influence. But we need more samples. I agree with you.

Because Serbs claim majority of Croats are ex orthodox Christians forced into Catholicism. Reality is exactly opposite. Western Serbs are ex-Catholics converted into orthodoxy.

Neither were Krajina Serbs Serbs in that time nor did they have any Serb identity. They became Serbs in 19th century during national awakenings because they were orthodox.
Western Herzegovina was always settled with Croats, and part of old Croatian medieval county Imota.

Well, Orthodoxy, the Eastern rite is older than Western and early Slavic Christianity was more Eastern. Even in the Czech lands where it was preached by Sts. Cyril and Methodius. The Latins took them over only later.
Church Slavonic is part of all South Slavs' heritage.

In Bosnia and Montenegro Orthodox churches are way younger than Catholic (only exception being far east or Bosnia and north of Montenegro)

yes. they are around the Serb average by k13 results. there are the academics from Split, a couple from Zadar were posted before, there is quite a bit of them on gedmatch too.

Do you know which is one of the oldest grave in Duvno area? It's Orthodox grave of Marta mother of Vuilo Bilanović from 16th century on Orthodox cemetery in Mandino Selo near Duvno.

Bilanovići (R1a) lived in Mandino Selo until 1992, when Croatians expelled them. Today live in Banja Luka, around Belgrade and in diaspora.

Croatians committed genocide on Duvno Serbs 1941-45, and those who survived were expelled in 1992.

Duvno is heart of medieval Croatia, stop searching original Serbs there. I don't search original Croats in Raška.

Be careful with Split samples or from any bigger coastal city. Most of people there are not indigenious Čakavian Croats but Vlaji from hinterland.
Zadar is mixed with Italian and Arbanas (Albanian) element as well.

Southern Čakavians are best preserved in islands and smaller coastal towns and they seem very Slavic like that man from Kaštela.
I don't have gedmatch of my 23andme fully Islander matches and they score much higher eastern European than štokavian southern Croats.

No way they will be like Serbs, but significantly more Slavic unless Italian/Venetian input.

They are also visibly lighter than Štokavians. That population is certanly closest to medieval Croats and they should have highest amount of White Croat genetics.
