For your mother it looks okay - is she fully English? I was excited about this calc because for a lot of British individuals I tested they were getting scores that seemed broadly consistent with historic BI migrations. There was even one English kit that was around 60% Celtic and 40% Germanic, which seemed consistent with the one of the more recent studies that suggest English are around 35-40% Anglo Saxon. I may have to try mixing ancient samples with modern ones as I did with the Slavic samples.

I got the highest distance so I don’t think it fits me so well as the other Iberians! Or it means I am more southernly than my fellow Iberians. I will take Roman though

Yes she is. 62% representing Germanic+British BA, 4% Slavic added to Germanic, and 33% Continental Celtic could be realistic, but who knows. I think there's only so much you can glean from G25 right now regarding NW Euro migrations, there needs to be more samples from different places and times, hopefully we'll be getting that in the next year.

I think you might have copied the code wrong, but regardless, this still looks pretty good and more along the lines of what I got with other Anglos! Obviously the 21,8 + 13% Slavic accounts for your Ukrainian heritage while the Celtic samples would make up your remaining British and Irish (and French) admixture. Thanks for posting!

It's erroneous to say those Celtic components represent British & Irish admixture though as they don't. You would need Bronze Age British samples to represent actual British & Irish.

You can see why an Irish person wouldn't get much of this in their breakdown and more Continental Europeans would have a higher percentage.
