Mortimer post: Respect Roma rights!
Mortimer post ten minutes later: How do you like my new Nazi uniform?
And not only them, but Ethiopia too. He also tried to prop up an Aromanian state in the Pindus region of Greece in the beginning.
These are the imperialistic ambitions I was referencing in my last sentence. But this was just Mussolini's personal ambition after joining the war, not part of Fascist ideology. He was anti-war originally when he started out as a Fascist.
He also wasn't the only Fascist in WW2. There was Oswald Mosley of Britain as well.
You got it wrong. He left the Italian Socialists because he was pro-war and nationalist and the Socialists(Italian and non-Italian) were anti-war. He was an imperialist from long before he joined the war. He only hesitated in joining the war with Germany, because he wasn't sure Germany could win. Was convinced because of his personal and close relationship or friendship with Hitler.

Quote:
Mussolini was originally a socialist politician and a journalist at the Avanti! newspaper. In 1912, he became a member of the National Directorate of the Italian Socialist Party (PSI), but he was expelled from the PSI for advocating military intervention in World War I, in opposition to the party's stance on neutrality. In 1914, Mussolini founded a newspaper, Il Popolo d'Italia, and served in the Royal Italian Army during the war until he was wounded and discharged in 1917. Mussolini denounced the PSI, his views now centering on Italian nationalism instead of socialism, and later founded the fascist movement which came to oppose egalitarianism and class conflict, instead advocating "revolutionary nationalism" transcending class lines.
Greeks beat him and manage to defend their land from first attack.
Only after Hitler helped him, they together ocupied both Yugoslavia and Greece.
It is interesting he planned to settle Italians among the Albanians, who saw as their own kin.
Officials intended to make Albania part of a Greater Italy by assimilating Albanians as Italians and colonizing Albania with Italian settlers from the Italian Peninsula to transform it gradually into an Italian land.[5]

Several decades later he got hundreds of thousands his beloved Albanians in Italy, in opposite direction. :)
Mussolini was a warmonger from the beginning.

The Corfu incident (Greek: κατάληψη της Κέρκυρας, romanized: Katalipsi tis Kerkyras, Italian: crisi di Corfů) was a 1923 diplomatic and military crisis between Greece and Italy. It was triggered when Enrico Tellini, an Italian general heading a commission to resolve a border dispute between Albania and Greece, was murdered in Greek territory along with two other officers of his staff. In response, Benito Mussolini issued an ultimatum to Greece and, when it was not ealing with larger powers.
Spazio vitale (Italian: [ˈspattsjo viˈtaːle], "living space") was the territorial expansionist concept of Italian Fascism. It was defined in universal terms as "that part of the globe over which extends either the vital requirements or expansionary impetus of a state with strong unitary organization which seeks to satisfy its needs by expanding beyond its national boundaries".[1]: 47 Spazio vitale was analogous to Nazi Germany's concept of Lebensraum.[1]: 46
The territorial extent of the Italian spazio vitale was to cover the Mediterranean as a whole (Mare *******) and Northern Africa from the Atlantic Ocean to the Indian Ocean.[1]: 47 It was to be divided into piccolo spazio ("small space"), which was to be inhabited only by Italians, and grande spazio ("large space") inhabited by other nations to be under the Italian sphere of influence.[1]: 48 The nations in the grande spazio would be subjected to Italian rule and protection, but were to keep their own languages and cultures.[1]: 46 Fascist ideologist Giuseppe Bottai likened this historic mission to the deeds of the ancient Romans, stating that the new Italians will "illuminate the world with their art, educate it with their knowledge, and give robust structure to their new territories with their administrative technique and ability".[1]: 46 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spazio_vitale
