Central Asian could also mean a mix like the Kazakhs, who are only half East Asian. We don't know what kind of Central Asian was used here.

I got an answer from that Russian person (actually from his daughter, he doesn't speak English). She said we might be really related, because they know very little about their family history. She also told me that they have roots from Kazakhstan as well. This is getting more and more complicated.

Is he a full Russian? Where in Russia are they from? Please ask her about Gedmatch too.
