Oh no Kermanis are southeasternmost persians, since Balochs are not persian.
Bandari are just southern. Also aren't Bandaris more located in the southwest (Gulf)?

Depends on how you define close. I think Azeris are closer to Iranian Kurds and Caspian Iranians like (Mazandarani and Gilaki) than to Persians. Lurs would be intermediate between Kurds and Persians.
Also note: I don't know on what the Iranian sample on Gedmatch is based on. All Iranians? Only Persians?...
Persian is a very lose term as well. There is a difference between ethnic Persian descended from Zagros area and just a Persian speaking migrant.
Proximity of Azeris with Persians is based on their highest proportions which are same. Only difference is in CHG and Siberian Component.
Well a lot people in Iran think they're persian because many have been already assimilated and support Persian culture and language. Its been of the most influenced and dominant cultures in that region so it makes sense why some minorities would identify as such.
Excluding balochs, many bandaris and some other easterners, mazandaranis would be the most CHG-shifted iranians. ALthough they do get a bit more caucasian than other iranians(like 40-45%), they never seem to get less than 30% baloch(from the 9 samples i seen)and always around 31-32% baloch. THey also seem slightly more SI-shifted. Out of all the 9 samples i seen, only 2 got like below 4,5% SI(one got like 3%, while maybe the other 4%). THe rest just got close to 5% and some even 6%. THey even get less med than the other iranians. TBH, i wouldnt be suprised if theyre inbetween lebanese and afghans and slightly closer to turks than to afghans. That means azeris have some significant differencees(and specially the ones from the west getting less than 20% baloch and some mong in harrappaworld). But thats from only the 9 samples i seen….
