ashkenazi jews are very mixed from their father side as well. very different haplogroups. and only minority of it is semitic / haplogroup E. Palestinians have way more native levant ancestry. Jewish in the end is a religion. Most jews dont look middle-eastern in their appearance.

Sardinia_Punic is not North Africa, its MENA ancestry is mostly levantine, I would use Sardinia_C_O, Mozabite, Iberia_Central_CA_Afr

I used ITA_Sardinia_Punic:VIL011 which is heavily North African, I didn't use the average which ofc is very mixed.
A NA shifted Punic makes much more sense for Levantines than Mozabites.

2 suggestions:

-Given you split Levant and North Levant, shouldn't you rename the first as South Levant?
-Instead of using ancient, divide the 2 cluster in iron age and bronze age, I believe you excluded copper age samples already.

Where do you think the Mittani came from? They're Indo-Iranians and Indo-Iranians originated in Central Asia. Based on the fact this Central Asian was almost entirely BMAC with minor Steppe, it was probably either some BMAC concubine that the Mittanis brought with them or one of the Mittanis that didn't have much Steppe admix.

Edit: Never mind. You were referring to the minor SC Asian admixture that came during the combined Persian and Greek rule.

I believe Mitanni were becoming Indo-Aryan already, although obviously the difference was particularly big at the moment.

They’ve found my mtdna in Alalakh, I just noticed this now, dated to 1613-1461 cal BCE (3260 ± 24 BP, MAMS-33699). This would be either the Hittite or Mitanni period of the region.
