If you were strong Slavic admixed you would pull northeast towards Ukrainians and Belarusians man. But you pull towards Germans.

All western balkan nations are just religious tribes with a whiff of cultural differences.

It just came to be that Serbs have absorbed the most of populace due Orthodox Christianity was State religion in Roman Empire.

Illyrian Tribes are (Croats, Serbs, Bosniaks, Montenegrins etc..)
