The Y-DNA 12 is probably a very early Germanic clade. Germanic folk could be found many places and in very early Hungary, even my 12 Clade according to FTDNA has ancient connections to DNA found in pre Arpadian Hungary.
Also genetic is not limited to Ydna , the autosomal DNA is just as if not more relevent.
For whatever reason the Carpathian Basin seemed fated to be known and named for this sequence of eastern Folk of (Huns - Avars - Magyars/Hungarians) the State of Hungary = Politically and by designation and language is a living continuation of that sequence.
Genetically myself included - most Hungarians have Slavic-Germanic-Balkan bloodlines with very smaller traces of Ugric-Turanic = myself included.
Wrong, Hungarians dont speak Slavic or German, they speak Magyar... it is spoken by Hungarian minority in all nations that surround Hungary. In certain times nations neighbouring Hungary have often tried to deny Hungary of its Hungarian-Magyar ness ... but it lives on despite them. :wink
