The Azerbaijanis are a Turkic people. I don't know about you, maybe you personally hesitate to call yourself a Turk but before Stalin the Azerbaijanis were officially Turks. And being Turkic in that region means being a lot more recent there than Caucasians, Armenians and even Iranians. On the other hand, Georgians never spoke an Iranian or Turkic language.

I think you missed the point of what I wrote. Azeris are Turkic, no one questions that.
Being recent or not is not that relevant either. After all, Vainakhs are not recent, they are natives of Caucasus, yet they are not nearly as pure "Caucasus" as Georgians. The same goes for Dagestanis, which are even more different. They also never spoke Turkic or other languages yet they show much higher degree of admixture.

The point I was trying to make is that being Christian, Georgians and Armenians probably kept their communities separate from the rest of the Caucasus. Their autosomal results clearly show that. They are largely "intact", so to speak.
Intermarriage is much more common when it is interfaith, especially in a region such as Caucasus. Any way, this is all a conjecture. We will see when we have the results.

I meant that Alevi Kurds can range between 3-5% east eurasian(30-50% Anatolian Turk), i didn’t state any numbers or statistics, neither I claimed 5% is common or whatever. This 5% east eurasian Kurd was from K.Maras and is already showed here, but I saw some Alevi Kurdish results who were around 3% east eurasian and they weren’t from there. My point was that Kurds generally don’t show that amount of east eurasian admixture(generally 1-2%), i just know this from mixed cities like K.Maras, Igdir etc. Imo below 3% isn’t any indication for Turkish ancestry but any amount of it doesn’t change the identity of them, I am not interested in claiming Kurds have generally high amount of east eurasian Dna, most of Kurds show rarely show up to 3%, if they don’t live in mixed areas. And even then they don’t necessarily have considerable amount of it.

Because Kurds generally don’t show any. Look at other Iranics like Iranians or even Tadjiks, if they don’t have any Turkish ancestry they rarely show any. And this east eurasian can have a relation to steppe, but i doubt they had big amount of it that they would show 3-5% east eurasian nowadays. Iranics with most preserved steppe admixture don’t have any or considerable east eurasian.
