I think populations like the English and Dutch are much better representatives of Northwestern Europeans than populations like Orcadians, Shetlanders and Icelanders. These populations have not contributed to anyone's ancestry in any significant way. They are very small and drifted populations who are a mixture of Gael and Scandos. I personally remove these pops for myself in G25 because Irish are more a source than the other way round. Icelanders just skew my results. No offence to any of these populations as I myself have some drift and I'm similar to them. If honest though they are not representative of Northwest Europe just periphery pops and I'm also periphery so I'm just giving my honest opinion. :) There is a Norwegian on Anthrogenica who always advises against using these island pops and I've taken his advice to heart and agree with him.Quote:
