Southern genes here are mostly of Vlach origin, because outside of Moldova people start to have very northern results, I mean in Ukraine. And in the north this southern influence is gowing only via Carpathian mountains reaching Poland. Plus in Carpathians concetration of E-V13 is very high (16%), wich is totally anormal for Eastern Slavs. Plus the toponymy of Carpathians clearly show who brought this southern influence here.Quote:

I didn't say they came from south of the Danube only - see I said they lived from Thessaly up to Apuseni the entire mountain region. in Romania therefore they spread from the southwest BUT the language spread politically in the past centuries for the most, so we must separate DNA from language. as I've posted before, half of Moldova's territory 100 years ago (including Bucovina) were Csango, Szekler, Rusyn, Hutsul, Lipovan, Goral and German villages. the linguistic Romanianization is something very recent. and the DNA Vlachization East of Siret did not happen - people in this region had similar DNA even two thousand years ago (see Scythian MDA on Global25). some little Vlach in some may be found, with the bejinari movement out of Transylvania and in southern Moldova from southern Romanians (aka Vlach-speaking Bulgaro-Vlachs).Quote:

In the past 300 years Romania always had a continuous stream of immigrants from the neighbors (Bulgarian, Serbs, Jews, Ukrainians, and even Russians), but with the exception of Jews, they quickly assimilated (in a couple of generations). They were not native anyways - and so they did the sensible thing and assimilated into the majority.
It is not an issue, the language of moldovans is moldavian. The issue is in Romania, though, and not in the so called Moldova region, that is undoubtedly speaking moldavian, but in Transylvania as their intelligentsia are saying the language spoken in Transylvania is moldavian. Even Stati on the cover of the moldavian-romanian dictionary showed that in Transylvania it is spoken the moldavian language. In fact only in some parts of Transylvania it is spoken and those parts happened to be those where the last name Moldovan abound, being the most frequent family name in those areas.Quote:
