Hi there, thank you for all these samples. I'm trying to reply to a particular comment but I'm not used to forums and I'm new to this one. I made this account to contact you in particular but I don't see a private message option so I have to spam here instead, sorry everyone
I have a LOT of segments in common with:
Kit Number: M959325
Name: *PunnW_X
So I was just wondering...who is this?! I'd love to know where this sample is from and the name of the sample because googling "PunnW_X" is getting me nowhere
Thank you :)
Hi,
I can't say exactly what it is but it looks basically identical to modern Iberians (Spanish/Portuguese) judging by the calculator results

I would assume it's some medieval sample.
Spanish! The mystery deepens:icon_ask:
I worked my way through the lists and have the biggest matches with the mystery kits with no identifiers lmao Crimean Nogay (CF1951785), Chechen Republic (FA2011994), a Uyghur (T635433), and a Turkmen (JX5977924). For a woman from England, I'm pretty intrigued. I had bigger and a greater amount of matches to these than ones I would have expected, like German Bell Beakers and stuff!
Comparing yourself with ancient samples isn't going to produce any meaningful matches on the level of close relatives, it's impossible.
These tools are a better way to measure your genetic similarity to ancient samples:
Using Eurogenes K36 results
https://gen3553.pagesperso-orange.fr/ADN/ancient.htm
Using Eurogenes K13 results
http://vahaduo.genetics.ovh/Eurogene...nt-vahaduo.htm
Don't worry, I'm not expecting that.
Those tools are cool but I prefer human stories to cold numbers, so I was just hoping someone might know the IDs for the samples so I can find out things like time period and culture.
I am interested in these two samples:
Were they uploaded into Gedmatch or were they calculated in K13?Quote:
