This is also a good read, Kaufman on the ideology of Germanism / Teutonism (in English):

Kaufman noticed the same things that Chesterton had already noticed back in his 1922 book.

He only exaggerated it, because he was writing during the Holocaust and he was Jewish.

So naturally he was frustrated that his kinsmen were being exterminated as he wrote that.

Germanics tend to be upstanding individuals, hence they broke the pact Chesterton saw forming through his simple logic. Germanics also pulled through the Protestant Reformation.
