For the most part, I still think Buddhism deserves the title as the worlds most peaceful religion but there are some worrying issues. There have been sexual abuse scandals, worse than the Catholic church, many abandoned or orphan children are taken in by monasteries and are made to be priests in training, SOME have been abused. This has been happening in many South East Asian countries for years.
There is truth to what you are saying, but Buddhism at it's core is inherently peaceful and unlike other religions there is no agenda to take convert non-believers to control the masses imo. Same is true for all Dharmic faiths but Buddhism is the most peaceful.
In a way, it's that lack of agenda that causes their weakness. However, Abrahamic religions all started small but spread quickly and I don't think it can be attributed to violence and a will to control the masses, but rather the masses saw light in those religions at a time when Polytheism ruled the World.
Chinese monks developed martial arts for their own protection. China's history is volatile, you see.
Yeah, just the other day a hippie called them gentle and loving, so I gave links to videos, one of which was a Sri Lankan Sinhalese I think they're called, greatly disrespecting Tamil officials, and then the other video was of the genocide against Rohingya in Burma. I am in Cambodia and see the blind followers of this religion all the time such as my bitch managers.
