A (male) friend of mine told me to check this series out, so the first thing I did was to check if it was made by HBO or Showtime, which means it’s suitable for Europeans. Haha. <3 HBO <3
I watch it almost purely for the vivid characters and well written dialogues. The various plots of the series are hit and miss for my taste, and I find some of the things downright ridiculous.
I don’t know much about the southern culture but True Blood have convinced me.
Most of the actors behind the characters do it extremely well, especially many of the minor ones such as:
Hoyt Fortenberry – So sweet and gentle that you wish him the best and the actor pulls it off. Nice.
Maxine Fortenberry – Hoyt’s mother who is a mean person but has been deeply hurt in the past, and now tries to stop Hoyt leaving her home because she’s afraid of being alone. Her actions are not justified but the actor I brilliant.
Steve Newlin – Eeew sick! His slick ways makes me vomit. Good actor.
Magister – Pretty scary. Cold and calculated. Perfect actor for the job.
Adele Stackhouse – Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I wanted to see her a lot more! <3
And the talented William Sanderson as Sheriff Bud Dearborne. Holy shit! Everything that man touches is gold.
Lafayette – This one is self-explanatory. :P
