Número extraordinário comemorativo do duplo Centenário da Fundação e Restauração de Portugal [em falta as páginas destacáveis 305 a 308], publicado em 1940.

Alguns aspectos curiosos que desconhecia ou já não me lembrava que li nestas primeiras páginas:

Página 7: "No século X, para lá dos Pirenéus, Gallaecia, a terra de S. Tiago, era o nome genérico da Espanha cristã, ao passo que Hispânia designava a Espanha muçulmana." Isto vai ao encontro daquilo que estivemos a falar recentemente com alguns membros relativamente aos Portugueses descenderem de Espanhóis\Hispânicos ou de uma suposta identidade\communitas Hispânica, o que não é corroborado..

Página 8: A "conquista" relâmpago de Afonso VI de Santarém, Lisboa e Sintra: "Santarém ocupada em 30 de Abril, Lisboa em 6 de Maio, Sintra em 8 do mesmo mês". Conquista entre aspas porque na realidade o Emir de Badajoz entrega a Afonso VI as cidades de Santarém e Lisboa-Sintra. O governo das mesmas é confiado a D. Raimundo, que delega o de Santarém a Soeiro Mendes da Maia. Estes domínios não permaneceram sobre a égide Cristã mais de um ano no entanto, já que em 1094 os Mouros apoderam-se novamente de todas as províncias, as quais só seriam posteriormente reconquistadas definitivamente por Dom Afonso Henriques I de Portugal.

Página 11 e 12: Dom Afonso Henriques invadiu a Galiza entre 1130-35. Abandonou a campanha por ver-se forçado a recuar para outra frente de batalha em Leiria e Tomar, que foram cercadas e invadidas pelos Mouros.

Página 14: Sabiam que o castelo de Sintra e Palmela foram abandonados? "A conquista da populosa Lisboa [...] causou uma impressão enorme em todo o mundo cristão e muçulmano; e foi tão vivo o sentimento de pavor nas terras mais próximas, que o castelo de Sintra se entregou e de Palmela fugiu a respectiva guarnição."
