Clooney is look somewath me
I must admit, I thought Clooney was part Greek or something.
Quote:
Clooney's ancestry includes Irish, German, English, and more distant Scottish and Dutch roots.
I would have imagined them to look more robust and more like Germans, Scandinavians, and Nordic god Russians.
Nope. The first Northmen vaguely colonized the coast of Normandy, and the Normans that invaded England came from all over Western and Northern France, including Brittany or Flanders.
There isn't just "some" Gaulish admixture.
The Franks formed as a confederation of tribes East of the Rhine, but really solidified West of it, in Toxandria. Furthermore, "Frank" had a very different meaning by the time of Rollo...
According to your logic, I'm a Dane.
Are you related to Bloody or Toothing Carmen or some other ignorant person? The Anglo-Saxons people origins lay in southern Scandinavia in Denmark! They belong to the Western Germanic Branch with the Franks, Frisians, Alemannis, Chauci, Batavians, etc... While the Goths were originally from southern Sweden, before sojourning in parts of Eastern Ge Europe and they belonged to the Eastern Germanic Branch with the Heruli, the Burgundians from Bornholm, Sweden, the Ancient Lombards (Langobards=long beards), etc...
Goths came from Scandinavia, so originally were very similar to the other Germanic people of Scandinavia, who are of a Nordic type.
George Clooney has Irish, English, German, Welsh, French and Dutch ancestry. I wouldn't tag his phenotype as typically Anglo-Saxon at all.
Mel Gibson is mostly Celtic, O.K.1! He's 87.5% Irish, and the rest is a mix of English, Scottish, Welsh and Ulster-Irish. His phenotype is more Keltic Nordid than anything!
For your information. The Anglo-Saxon phenotype belongs to the Nordid group, and is closer to the Hallstatt Nordid type than the Troender.
Anglo-Saxons have a pale skin, light(mixed)-eyes, often blond hair sometimes brown or red hair. It is a mesocephalic type, narrow facial features. Ectomorph to mesomorph, tall-statured. a very narrow nose and a high forehead. The phenotype is most common in England and among people who are of English descent.
George Clooney definitely doesn't qualify as Anglo-Saxon in terms of phenotype.
Rubbish! Normans were the descendants of Vikings from whence the name "Normands" in French comes from and they mixed with the local French population at the time which mainly of Frankish and Gallo-Roman descent, to a smaller extent Saxon too.
Normandy is less Germanic than England anyway. Easy just by looking at Germanic paternal lineages (I1a, R1b-U106, R1a-L664, R1a-Z284, I2a2a-Z161) of French people, the second "most genetically Germanic" are those originally from the Contentin peninsula in Normandy at 33%. While Cornwall which is England's most Celtic region has 45% of the Germanic paternal lineages.
