Who are the ancestors of the French, more specifically the modern northern and central French? I assume it would be French Bronze Age locals, but do we know if the French have any significant ancestry from Germanic tribes, Hallstatt Celts, or Roman settlers?
I would think that the French could be the crossroads for the Mediterranean and the North Seas. NW shares a lot of DNA with England, NE shares a lot with Germany, SE shares a lot with Italy, SW shares a lot with Spain.
