Padania comprises the regions of Piedmont, Liguria, Emilia-Romanga, Lombardia and Veneto. These regions are regulated under an ordinary statute, which gives them parcial autonomy. Other northern regions, like Aosta Valley, Friuli-Venezia-Giulia and South Tyrol are governed under a special statute (statuto speciale), which allows them to enjoy a wider autonomy.
What Padanian regions demand is a similar autonomy to those of special statute (if not independence), which is also enjoyed by Sardinia and Sicily.
