Pretty much spot on except one thing: it can take longer than 3 years for an Orthodox conversion, and it usual does. 4-5 is probably normal.
Wrong.
The only groups that maintained a ban on conversion were Karaites (a small sect of literalists) and Syrian Jews for some reason. However, many Syrians now accept converts. Even the most ultra-Orthodox Jews accept converts. In at least one case, a convert was married to the leader of a Hassidic sect.
Prejudice exists in individuals but officially when you convert to Judaism you also join the Jewish people.
I don't convert to other religions. Other religions convert to me.
