If North Italians are genetically "south" of Iberians why are Iberians darker?

What would be your opinion on that? I already gave my input, and I thought that solar irradiation/sunshine hours can make Iberians a little bit more tanned on average, due to 80% of the living in the southern half and insular Spain, but of course it doesn't mean that Spain is the Sahara and that Italy is Iceland. Besides, Italy has a lot of overlappings with other Germanic and Slavic Central European populations the country shares borders with, while Spain lies entirely in Southwestern Europe, so that could be a reason too.

That's the point. Most Iberians are not tanned, but just have a standard European fair skin tone.

Some people on here (NOT you, of course) like Gica and others, who like to troll Spaniards, like to portray Spain as some sort of semi-tropical country, "abysmally warmer and sunnier" than Italy and any other European country (including other southern European countries :picard1:) as for using some explanation for a supposedly tanned look in Spaniards, when is not the case.

And Northern Italians are not paler skinned than Spaniards on average. They just have some higher frequencies of light hair and eyes, and some more super pale individuals (is my impression, based on my experience with some few super pale North Italian descent Venezuelans that I met back in my country). It might be explained by some higher Baltic input on Northern Italians than in Iberians, perhaps, but that's it.

In terms of pigmentation it is as equally fair or unfair to compare Spaniards with southern or Northern Italians, since Spaniars are like halfway between ones and the others, and more on par with central Italians.

How come some ''Central Asians'' have ginger hair and the Chinese have black hair seeing as they're in spitting distance towards each other?
