Alright lads. I want to post pictures of the Netherlands (North or South) but I have no idea what part of the Netherlands to pick.
So the choice is yours: what do you want to see ? U vraagt wij draaien.
Oost-Groningen met haar weidse verlaten landschappen, heel indrukwekkend die leegte.
Well...it is a part of the Netherlands too. I once made a bycicle trip there and it quite impressed me, almost like if I were in another country. There are a couple of nice villages though , e.g. Bourtange, and.... Jipsingboermusselkanaal ! Lol , no but serious...there is a lot of crop farming in that area, in contrast with Frisia with its meadows and cows. which looks rather like the typical Dutch landscape. What do you think about the Flevopolders?
Right now we are crossing the Wadden Sea to the Isle of Terschelling. Yes.. we can't go much further North then this:

Now we are travelling down South from Friesland - into the Province of Drenthe. The 1970s architectural restructuring and the peat exploitation of early in the 20th century may have caused considerable damage on the landscape: Drenthe is still beautiful and relatively sparsely populated. It's one of the few places (along with Groningen and Friesland - and to a lesser extent Zeeland and the tip of North Holland) where you can find some peace and quiet. Drenthe is an ancient landscape- in areas scattered with the natural or archaeological remains of the prehistory and the early Middle Ages.
