And yes... we do have some hills in the Netherlands like here in Southern Limburg:
http://static.panoramio.com/photos/o...l/18042874.jpgAlthough some places are still hard to reach, the Netherlands has one of the most dense railway-networks in the world. We take a look at the miniature trains of Madurodam and we rush by 'double-deck' through the colourful bulb-fields of North Holland.
Rail Away in the Netherlands (mid 1990s)
Note: this must have before 1999 as Lovers Rail went bust in 1999.
Serie documentaires over markante spoorlijnen overal ter wereld. In Nederland zijn steeds meer reizen met een stoomtrein te maken. Een voorbeeld daarvan is een rit over de Miljoenenlijn in Zuid-Limburg.

I really like the ancient atmosphere in your country :]
We are still a beautiful country but industrialization, urbanization (overpopulation), poor planning and management, industrial pollution and the multicultural society are wreaking havoc on our landscape.
Time to go north this time. To Drenthe:

I am especially fond of windmills...as simple as they are :love0021:
This time we travel to Overijssel.
First.. I'll present to you a map of the various provinces so you'll know where I am taking you:

With so many amazing towns around -particularly those along the IJssel -steeped in the Hanseatic League and a proud medieval past I decided to only show you one. Which is Deventer.
From Deventer we travel west.. towards the famous little town of Giethoorn- the Venice of the North:

And then we go to famous little Staphorst:

Dan heb ik hier nog een leuke koppeling die naar korte fragmenten uit het VARA programma Vroege Vogels leidt - met voornamelijk schitterende beelden van vóór 1976.
I wish i could make a Bike tour with a short stay in Maastricht.
Nothing Wrong with the north but it´s far away.
