Has one of the most famous paintings of all time and is known as an unstable mad artist.

Renaissance Artist
5. Salvador Dali
Most famous surrealist artist and known for his melting clocks.
6 Andy warhol
The hippie pop artist and known for Campbell canned soup drawing.
7 Frida Kahlo
Well her self portraits and lifestyle are well known.
Yea Picasso and Dahli should have been on my list but I feel like young people are too dumb on average to know about abstract/surreal art.

It's obviously not a good measure for fame, but I can't think of anything else. All classic artists are famous because art dealers chose to make them such, but that's another matter entirely.
