My mum is B+ (Fairly uncommon), I am O+ (Most common). O (especially O-) is quite good to have for blood donations; O+ is very common and can be donated to any RH+ group and O- happens to be completely universal. I offered to switch from blood to platelet donation a few months back but they are currently only accepting switches from people with I believe A+/-and AB-
