The video, released Oct. 30, shows Antonie Chrástecká, 25, and Hana Humpálová, 24, who were abducted seven months ago while traveling by bus through southern Pakistan's Balochistan region en route to India.
The video was released by Czech authorities with the consent of family members and indicates the two are being held separately. Their abductors had earlier demanded the release of a political prisoner in the United States. Recorded Aug. 23, the clip indicated the two were being held separately.
In English, Humpálová says she is in poor health because of the food and water. “In case of my death,” Humpálová is shown saying, “I would like to be buried and put down in the grave of my father's family.” She breaks into tears several times as she expresses private wishes toward her family and loved ones.
Chrástecká, in English, urges the Czech government to pressure the Pakistani government into meeting their kidnappers' demands. She then changes to her native Czech to express what she called her final wish. “When I die, please speak of me in superlatives and pray for me,” and speaks of arrangements for her funeral.
A previous video given to a Czech TV station in June showed the two demanding the release of Pakistani national Aafia Siddiqui. The neuroscientist, was given an 86-year sentence by a U.S. court in 2010 for shooting at FBI agents and soldiers in Afghanistan.
Czech President Miloš Zeman said in October that negotiations to secure the release of the pair were under way, although he did not elaborate. The Foreign Mministry said there have been no formal ransom demands.
