That's the point though - only in some countries does that occur. The Spanish, Italian and Greek basketball teams, for example, are still overwhelmingly White.

The Colombian and Ecuadorian is kinda representative of some area (maybe the Coast in Colombia) or some class (lower-class). It's similar to what happens with the Chilean football team.. it's representative of the lower class.

The Colombian football team represents the coasts, to an extent, but certainly not the interior, certainly not Bogota and Medellin. Further, the Ecuadorean team has far too many Black players, and far too few Indigenous ones, relative to its population.

They usually have one or two White players, as in the OP photo, but yes, it is a bit of a joke imho.
