King Arthur, possibly based on a real figure, was most likely a Briton if he existed, not a Basque or Catalan. Beowulf is from an English epic poem, and while he could be based on a real person, i don't think there is evidence for him being a real person. Odin is mythical person, possible he's based on some sort of Messiah - but again no evidence as far as i know. Queen Elizabeth I was of quite mixed ancestry and i don't think she identified as Basque or Catalan lol, but rather as the Queen of England. Alfred the Great was from Oxfordshire of aristocratic English (and probably also Brythonic) descent.

It's not surprising that a Christian Norman described the Pagan Vikings like this, many people did at the time, and afterwards. Many people described the Normans as nasty pieces of work too, i think that goes for most groups - at some time and place most groups have been described in such a way.

You need to find some more up-to-date information. the Irish are more closely related to even Germans than to Iberians. Even the R1b group that dominates in Ireland has very scanty representation in most places further south or east than northern France.
