True! I don't see why rallies like this has to be made for atheists as a pseudo-church. Why just not have general group meetings without a religious tone for every one?

Because the idea of the "Sunday worship" type gathering is more inclusive, involving, stimulating, and joyous than the alternative; a bunch of atheists sitting in a room together drinking coffee and talking with mild enthusiasm about how stupid everyone else is.

A good thing about religious gathering is the social, community aspect of it. People realise it. Too much individualism isn't always a good thing.
